एवं रात्रौ सम कुर्वन्ति विविशुश चार्णवं दिवा भरद्वाजाश्रमे चैव नियता बरह्मचारिणः वाय्वाहाराम्बुभक्षाश च विंशतिः संनिपातिताः ।। ३-१००-५ ।।

sanskrit

'They carried out these acts under the cover of night, retreating into the depths of the sea by day. In Bharadwaja's retreat, they slew twenty Brahmanas of disciplined souls, dedicated to the Brahmacharya way of life, sustained only by air and water.' ।। 3-100-5 ।।

english translation

evaM rAtrau sama kurvanti vivizuza cArNavaM divA bharadvAjAzrame caiva niyatA barahmacAriNaH vAyvAhArAmbubhakSAza ca viMzatiH saMnipAtitAH || 3-100-5 ||
