वैशंपायन उवाच । तं भुक्तवन्तमाश्वस्तं निशायां विदुरोऽब्रवीत् । नेदं सम्यग्व्यवसितं केशवागमनं तव॥५-९०-१॥
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: When he had eaten and become at ease, Vidura spoke to him at night: “This coming of yours, O Keśava, has not been properly settled in its counsel.”
english translation
अर्थधर्मातिगो मूढः संरम्भी च जनार्दन । मानघ्नो मानकामश्च वृद्धानां शासनातिगः॥५-९०-२॥
“He transgresses both artha and dharma; he is deluded and rash, O Janārdana—one who strikes down others’ honor while craving honor for himself, and who oversteps the rule and counsel of the elders.”
english translation
धर्मशास्त्रातिगो मन्दो दुरात्मा प्रग्रहं गतः । अनेयः श्रेयसां पापो धार्तराष्ट्रो जनार्दन॥५-९०-३॥
O Janārdana, Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son has overstepped the ordinances of dharma-śāstra; he is dull of judgment, corrupt in spirit, and has fallen under compulsive sway. He is not amenable to guidance toward what is truly beneficial, but is bent upon sinful, harmful conduct.

कामात्मा प्राज्ञमानी च मित्रध्रुक्सर्वशङ्कितः । अकर्ता चाकृतज्ञश्च त्यक्तधर्मः प्रियानृतः॥५-९०-४॥
He is ruled by desire, parades as wise, betrays allies, and suspects all. He is idle in rightful duty, ungrateful, has forsaken dharma, and prefers pleasing falsehoods.
english translation
एतैश्चान्यैश्च बहुभिर्दोषैरेष समन्वितः । त्वयोच्यमानः श्रेयोऽपि संरम्भान्न ग्रहीष्यति॥५-९०-५॥
Possessed of these and many other faults, he will not accept even what is beneficial when spoken by you, for he is driven by reactive agitation and stubborn obstinacy.
