कृष्णसंमाननार्थं च नगरं समलंकृतम् । बभूवू राजमार्गाश्च बहुरत्नसमाचिताः॥५-८७-६॥
And to honor Kṛṣṇa, the city was adorned; the royal roads too appeared decorated with many precious ornaments.
english translation
न स्म कश्चिद्गृहे राजंस्तदासीद्भरतर्षभ । न स्त्री न वृद्धो न शिशुर्वासुदेवदिदृक्षया॥५-८७-७॥
O King, bull among the Bharatas, at that time no one remained at home—no woman, no elder, and no child—out of the desire to see Vāsudeva.
english translation
राजमार्गे नरा न स्म संभवन्त्यवनिं गताः । तथा हि सुमहद्राजन्हृषीकेशप्रवेशने॥५-८७-८॥
On the royal road, people could scarcely move along the ground; so great, O King, was the press of the crowd at Hṛṣīkeśa’s entry.
english translation
आवृतानि वरस्त्रीभिर्गृहाणि सुमहान्त्यपि । प्रचलन्तीव भारेण दृश्यन्ते स्म महीतले॥५-८७-९॥
Even very large houses, covered with noble women, were seen upon the earth as though swaying under the weight.

तथा च गतिमन्तस्ते वासुदेवस्य वाजिनः । प्रनष्टगतयोऽभूवन्राजमार्गे नरैर्वृते॥५-८७-१०॥
And thus, even the swift horses of Vāsudeva lost their pace, as the royal road was filled with people.
