Let there be well-being for us—either together with them, or in accordance with whatever course you intend. O Kṛṣṇa, the purpose you are deliberating upon: let that be our guiding authority.

english translation

That corrupt-minded man does not deserve a death imposed by judgment, nor should his sons and kinsmen be implicated; for even after seeing the son of Dharma, he did not restrain himself from violating royal dignity.

english translation

And further, O Madhusūdana, when he did not perceive a righteous course, she was taken away through a ruthless stratagem by the one devoted to destructive gambling.

english translation

How could a man born among kṣatriyas, a bearer of the bow, withdraw once formally challenged—even when the prospect of death is present?

english translation

Seeing them defeated through adharma and then driven into forest exile, O Vārṣṇeya, Suyodhana has now stepped beyond restraint; in my view, he has become liable to the supreme penalty.
