Having thus seated me, Dhanañjaya then spoke words both practical and consonant with dharma; the discerning son of Pṛthā, with long eyes tinged with red, spoke while looking toward Vāsudeva.

english translation

Just as you heard the composed words spoken by that great-souled hero of the Madhu line, so too must my message be delivered by you exactly as it is, in every respect, when the kings have assembled from all sides.

english translation

In the great engagement—filled with the smoke of arrow-fire, resounding with the roar of chariot-wheels, and with the bow as the ladle that pours forth weapons and drains away strength—assemble together with care and reverence, and see that no “offering” is made, that is, no needless destruction.

english translation

If you do not grant to Yudhiṣṭhira, destroyer of enemies, his rightful and desired share, then with sharp arrows I will drive your horses, infantry, and elephants toward the inauspicious realm of the ancestors—that is, to death.

english translation

Then, having taken leave of four-armed Hari and having saluted Dhanañjaya, I came here swiftly, O radiant one, to deliver to you this weighty message.
