Stand firm, dear one, in the counsel of the virtuous—well-wishers who speak with reason. Endure Bhīṣma, the aged son of Śāntanu, your venerable grandsire.

english translation

Listen closely as I speak—one who pleads for the welfare of the Kurus—and likewise heed Droṇa, Kṛpa, Vikarṇa, and King Bāhlika.

english translation

Regard these men as you regard me. All of them are knowers of dharma, and they bear equal goodwill toward you, O Bhārata.

english translation

Keep in view what happened in Virāṭa’s city: with your brothers at the fore, your forces were thrown into utter confusion and withdrew, abandoning the cattle.

english translation

And the great marvel reported in that city is itself sufficient proof of what a single person can accomplish against many.
