Of great speed and great resolve, mighty-armed and mighty-strong, he will bring my dull-witted sons to their end through war.

english translation

Vṛkodara, bearing a mace held fast as in a firm thigh-grip—the bull among the Kurus—appears in battle like Antaka (Death) holding the staff of punishment.

english translation

In my mind I behold that formidable mace, wrought of stone and iron and adorned with gold, raised aloft like the brahma-daṇḍa—the rod of ultimate chastisement.

english translation

Just as a lion, once it has come into its strength, moves among herds of deer, so will Bhīma range through the forces of my side.

english translation

Among all my sons, he alone is of harsh prowess—given to excess in consumption, oppositional in temperament, and, even in childhood, always impetuous.
