In this great uncertainty, what course is best for me? Reflecting on the Kurus, I see only ruin.
english translation
The Kurus’ great calamity appears to have gambling at its head; this wrongdoing was committed out of greed by a weak-minded seeker of dominion.
english translation
I think this is the cyclical law of time that moves inexorably; like a rim fixed to a wheel, one cannot escape it.
english translation
What, then, is to be done? How should I act? Where should I go, Saṃjaya? These Kurus—deluded and fallen under the compulsion of Time—are moving toward ruin.
english translation
Formerly, dear one, I was powerless when my hundred sons were struck down. I shall hear the wailing of the women—how could death not touch me?
