When the lord of the Śinis, as I have described, pours his arrows upon the foes like a rain-bearing cloud, and veils the fighters in a net of shafts, then the Dhārtarāṣṭra will repent of this war.

english translation

When that great-souled warrior—long-armed and firm of bow—steadies his resolve to fight, the foes recoil from him, as cattle shrink back on scenting a lion, or as one draws away from fire.

english translation

That great-souled warrior—long-armed and firm of bow—could cleave mountains and overwhelm entire realms; accomplished in weapons, skilled and swift-handed, he shines like the sun enthroned in the sky.

english translation

Remarkable, subtle, and perfectly accomplished is the Yādava’s discipline in arms; and preeminent indeed is the martial integration (yoga) of the Vṛṣṇi-lion. In the very manner praised by the authorities as proper, Sātyaki is endowed with all those excellences.

english translation

When, amid the ordered stratagems of war, Suyodhana beholds Mādhava’s golden chariot yoked to four white horses, together with Sātyaki, then that undisciplined and imprudent man will suffer acute distress.
