विकत्थनः स्पृहयालुर्मनस्वी बिभ्रत्कोपं चपलोऽरक्षणश्च । एते प्राप्ताः षण्नरान्पापधर्मान्प्रकुर्वते नोत सन्तः सुदुर्गे॥५-४३-१०॥
Boastful, covetous, self-willed, bearing anger, fickle, and unreliable in protection—when these six traits arise in a man, they produce ignoble conduct; the virtuous do not act so, even under severe constraint.
