You will recognize this weapon as one especially dear to you. Indeed, it was known to you as well in a former embodiment.

english translation

It is a Prajāpati-derived weapon, fashioned by Viśvakṛt, named Prasvāpa (“Induced Sleep”), O Bhārata. Neither Rāma himself nor any man anywhere on earth knows of it.

english translation

Therefore remember it, O mighty-armed one, and apply it with full precision. Rāma will not go to destruction by that weapon, O ruler of men.

english translation

And by this act you will never incur demerit, O giver of honor. That Jāmadagnya will fall asleep, constrained by the force of your arrows.

english translation

Then, having overcome him, you yourself will rouse him again—on the field of battle—by means of that dear weapon, through an awakening invocation, O Bhīṣma.
