From mere self-assertion you classify chariot-warriors and atirathas as you please. Bound up with desire and aversion, you act out of delusion.

english translation

O Duryodhana, mighty-armed, consider this carefully and rightly. Abandon this hostile disposition: Bhīṣma, it is said, has acted in a way that has brought fault upon you.

english translation

For a divided army, O king, becomes difficult to consolidate. Even a hereditary force, O tiger among men, is hard to hold together—how much more one assembled from many different sources.

english translation

O Bhārata, divided loyalty has arisen among these combatants in the engagement; thereby our standing and effectiveness are being directly diminished, especially in ways visible to all.

english translation

Where is true mastery of chariot warfare, and what is Bhīṣma—of limited judgment—by comparison? I myself will hold back the host of the Pāṇḍavas.
