Neither Bhīṣma nor Droṇa spoke there what was fitting; all follow him—except Vidura, O Acyuta.

english translation

Śakuni Saubala, and also Karṇa and Duḥśāsana, spoke improper words to you—foolish men addressing one who, in misguided intolerance, is unyielding.

english translation

What need is there to repeat what I said, when the Kauravas themselves spoke in that way? In brief: that ill-intentioned man’s conduct is not compatible with you.

english translation

Among all rulers, these troops of yours are without equal; and whatever is sinful and whatever does not conduce to welfare—everything of that kind is established in that man.

english translation

Nor do we ever seek an excessive renunciation of what is rightfully ours. We desire conciliation with the Kauravas; if that fails, strategic engagement follows thereafter.
