By repeatedly emphasizing the deficiencies of the Dhārtarāṣṭras and censuring them, and by repeatedly splitting all the kings through speech and counsel—

english translation

Again I proposed a settlement, joined with conciliatory counsel, to preserve the unity of the Kuru lineage and to bring about a workable resolution of the matter.

english translation

“They are merely dependents of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, Bhīṣma, and Vidura; let all the Pāṇḍavas remain there, abandoning pride and taking up a posture of submission.”

english translation

“Let them grant the kingdom, and let those others be without sovereign authority; let it be as King Gāṅgeya (Bhīṣma) and Vidura have stated.”
