Hearing that the Vārṣṇeya has been detained, the Pāṇḍavas will lose heart and initiative, like serpents with broken fangs.

english translation

For he is their strong-armed protector—refuge and armor for them all. If this benefactor, the foremost of all Sātvatas, is detained, the Pāṇḍavas together with the Somakas will become inactive.

english translation

Therefore, right here we shall bind Keśava—swift in action—even as Dhṛtarāṣṭra protests, and then we shall engage our adversaries.

english translation

Sātyaki—perceptive of gestures and intentions, and discerning in judgment—quickly understood the unethical design of those ill-intentioned men.

english translation

For that purpose, stepping out and standing together with Hārdikya, he said to Kṛtavarmā: “Quickly deploy the force.”
