Two discerning, intelligent, self-restrained, well-informed authorities—concerned with practical welfare—have spoken beneficial words to you. Receive them, O subduer of foes.

english translation

Carry out, O greatly discerning one, what Kṛṣṇa and Bhīṣma have stated. Do not align yourself with the talk of the shallow-minded, O subduer of foes.

english translation

Those who are inciting you are never acting for what ought to be done. In the stratagems of battle they will shift the enmity onto the necks of others, making others bear the consequence.

english translation

Do not seek the destruction of all the Kurus—your sons and your brothers as well. Where Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) and Arjuna stand, know that force to be unconquerable.

english translation

This indeed is the true judgment of your well-wishers—Kṛṣṇa and Bhīṣma. If you do not accept it, dear one, you will later experience remorse, O Bhārata.
