I have obtained in this world the fame that arises from kṣatriya-dharma, and also the reward of being called a ‘hero’; may you be endowed with that merit.

english translation

Śibi Auśīnara, the wise, spoke gentle words: ‘Just as (I have been truthful) among children, among women, and likewise in matters of recreation…’

english translation

In battles, in reversals and defeats, and likewise in calamities and distress, I have never before spoken untruth; by that truth, go to the sky—attain the higher realm.

english translation

Just as I would relinquish life, sovereignty, royal duties, and pleasures—yet never relinquish Truth—by that very truth, go to the sky and attain the higher realm.
