अथाजगाम भगवान्दिवोदासं स गालवः । समये समनुप्राप्ते वचनं चेदमब्रवीत्॥५-११५-१६॥
Then the venerable Gālava came to Divodāsa; and when the agreed time had arrived, he spoke these words.

निर्यातयतु मे कन्यां भवांस्तिष्ठन्तु वाजिनः । यावदन्यत्र गच्छामि शुल्कार्थं पृथिवीपते॥५-११५-१७॥
“Let my daughter be formally given to you according to rite; let the horses remain here. Until I go elsewhere to procure the bride-price, O lord of the earth.”

दिवोदासोऽथ धर्मात्मा समये गालवस्य ताम् । कन्यां निर्यातयामास स्थितः सत्ये महीपतिः॥५-११५-१८॥
Then Divodāsa, righteous in spirit, at the appointed time for Gālava, formally gave that maiden; the king, steadfast in truth, acted as he had pledged.
