सहस्रशिरसः केचित्केचित्पञ्चशताननाः । शतशीर्षास्तथा केचित्केचित्त्रिशिरसोऽपि च॥५-१०१-६॥
Some are thousand-headed; some have five hundred faces; some likewise are hundred-headed; and some even are three-headed.
english translation
द्विपञ्चशिरसः केचित्केचित्सप्तमुखास्तथा । महाभोगा महाकायाः पर्वताभोगभोगिनः॥५-१०१-७॥
Some bore ten heads, and some likewise seven faces; of immense coils and colossal bodies, their winding folds stretched out like mountain ranges.
english translation
बहूनीह सहस्राणि प्रयुतान्यर्बुदानि च । नागानामेकवंशानां यथाश्रेष्ठांस्तु मे शृणु॥५-१०१-८॥
Here are many thousands, tens of thousands, and even crores; hear from me, in proper order, the foremost among the Nāgas of single lineages.
english translation
वासुकिस्तक्षकश्चैव कर्कोटकधनंजयौ । कालीयो नहुषश्चैव कम्बलाश्वतरावुभौ॥५-१०१-९॥
Vāsuki and Takṣaka; likewise Karkoṭaka and Dhanaṃjaya; Kāliya and Nahuṣa; and the pair Kambala and Aśvatara.
english translation
बाह्यकुण्डो मणिर्नागस्तथैवापूरणः खगः । वामनश्चैलपत्रश्च कुकुरः कुकुणस्तथा॥५-१०१-१०॥
Bāhyakuṇḍa; Maṇi the Nāga; likewise Āpūraṇa and Khaga; Vāmana and Cailapatra; Kukura and also Kukuṇa.
