ऊचुश्च सर्वे देवेशं विष्णुं वृत्रभयार्दिताः । त्वया लोकास्त्रयः क्रान्तास्त्रिभिर्विक्रमणैः प्रभो ॥ ५-१०-६॥
Afflicted by fear of Vṛtra, they all addressed Viṣṇu, lord of the Devas: “By you, O Lord, the three worlds were traversed in three strides.”
english translation
अमृतं चाहृतं विष्णो दैत्याश्च निहता रणे । बलिं बद्ध्वा महादैत्यं शक्रो देवाधिपः कृतः ॥ ५-१०-७॥
“The amṛta was obtained, O Viṣṇu, and the Daityas were defeated in battle. Having bound Bali, the great Daitya, Śakra was established as the lord of the Devas.”
english translation
त्वं प्रभुः सर्वलोकानां त्वया सर्वमिदं ततम् । त्वं हि देव महादेवः सर्वलोकनमस्कृतः ॥ ५-१०-८॥
“You are the sovereign of all worlds; by you all this is pervaded. Indeed, O God, you are Mahādeva, revered by all the worlds.”
english translation
गतिर्भव त्वं देवानां सेन्द्राणाममरोत्तम । जगद्व्याप्तमिदं सर्वं वृत्रेणासुरसूदन ॥ ५-१०-९॥
O best of the immortals, become the refuge and guiding course of action for the gods together with Indra. This entire world has been pervaded by Vṛtra, O slayer of the Asuras.
english translation
विष्णुरुवाच । अवश्यं करणीयं मे भवतां हितमुत्तमम् । तस्मादुपायं वक्ष्यामि यथासौ न भविष्यति ॥ ५-१०-१०॥
Viṣṇu said: I must certainly accomplish what is supremely beneficial for you. Therefore I shall state a method by which that adverse outcome will not come to pass.
