द्रुमाणांचशिलानांचशस्त्राणांचापिनिस्स्वनः । श्रूयतेसुमहांस्तत्रघोरोहृदयभेदसः ॥ ६-५३-२१
There, a very loud fearful noise was heard which pierced the hearts in the battlefield, that was produced by the striking of weapons with trees and rocks. ॥ 6-53-21॥

Then came out tumultuous sounds of clutter of chariots, bows, conches, kettle drums and tom toms. ॥ 6-53-22॥

Then, throwing away their weapons, they wrestled with one another in hand-to-hand combat, striking each other with the palms of their hands, their feet, and even with trees . - ॥ 6-53-23॥

- and their knees. Some of the Rakshasas had their bodies torn open, some were crushed by rocks and some were beaten down by the blows of the Vanaras in the fighting arrogance. ॥ 6-53-24॥

Tremendously frightening the monkeys in the battle by his arrows, Vajradamshtra moved himself in the battle-field like Yama the God of Death moving at the time of dissolution of the worlds, wielding a noose in his hand. ॥ 6-53-25॥
