एतानौत्पातिकान् दृष्टवावज्रदंष्ट्रोमहाबलः । धैर्यमालम्भ्यतेजस्वीनिर्जगामरणोत्सुकः ॥ ६-५३-१६
Mighty Vajradamshtra who was energetic, picking up courage seeing the portents that came up, sallied forth eager for war. [6-53-16]
english translation
तांस्तुनिष्क्रमतोदृष्टवावानराजितकाशिनः । प्रणेदुस्सुमहानादान्पूरयांश्चदिशोदश ॥ ६-५३-१७
Vanaras who assumed victory, seeing the Rakshasas coming out stretching filled all the ten directions with loud noise. [6-53-17]

ततःप्रवृत्तंतुमुलंहरीणांराक्षसैस्सह । घोराणांभीमरूपाणामन्योन्यवथकाङ् क्षिणाम् ॥ ६-५३-१८
Then dreadful encounters of fierce form took place between Vanaras and Rakshasas each one trying to kill another. [6-53-18]

निष्पतन्तोमहोत्साहोभिन्नदेहशिरोधराः । रुधिरोक्षितसर्वाङ्गान्यपतन्थरणीतले ॥ ६-५३-१९
Proceeding Further, very eager to fight they fell on the ground with their bodies broken, heads severed, and all limbs bathed in blood. [6-53-19]

केचिदन्योन्यमासाद्यशूराःपरिघपाणयः । चिक्षिपुर्विविधंशस्त्रंसमरेष्न्विवर्तिनः ॥ ६-५३-२०
Heroes in war whose hands were like iron clubs, who never turned back in war, indeed flung weapons of many kinds on one another. [6-53-20]
