[लॊमष] स तथेति परतिज्ञाय तया समभवन मुनिः समये समशीलिन्या शरद्धावाञ शरद्दधानया ॥ ३-९७-२१ ॥
'[Lomaśa said:] Having agreed saying 'so be it', the sage united/came together with her who was equal in conduct and full of faith, believing (in him).' ॥ 3-97-21 ॥

तत आधाय गर्भं तम अगमद वनम एव सः तस्मिन वनगते गर्भॊ ववृधे सप्त शारदान ॥ ३-९७-२२ ॥
'After she conceived, he withdrew into the forest. During his absence, the embryo developed for seven years.' ॥ 3-97-22 ॥

सप्तमे ऽबदे गते चापि पराच्यवत स महाकविः जवलन्न इव परभावेन दृढस्युर नाम भारत साङ्गॊपनिषदान वेदाञ जपन्न एव महायशाः ॥ ३-९७-२३ ॥
'And after the seventh year had passed, the highly learned Dridhasyu emerged from the womb, O Bharata, radiating his own brilliance. This great Brahmana and illustrious ascetic, endowed with immense energy, was born as the sage's son, as if he were reciting the Vedas along with the Upanishads and the Angas.' ॥ 3-97-23 ॥

तस्य पुत्रॊ ऽभवद ऋषेः स तेजस्वी महान ऋषिः स बाल एव तेजस्वी पितुस तस्य निवेशने इध्मानां भारम आजह्रे इध्म वाहस ततॊ ऽभवत ॥ ३-९७-२४ ॥
'A son was born to that sage, he became a great sage, full of radiance/power. Even as a child, that radiant one, in his father's hermitage, carried loads of firewood - thus he became known as 'Idhmaväha' (the firewood carrier).' ॥ 3-97-24 ॥

तथायुक्तं च तं दृष्ट्वा मुमुदे स मुनिस तदा लेभिरे पितरश चास्य लॊकान राजन यथेप्सितान ॥ ३-९७-२५ ॥
'The Muni, seeing his son embody such virtues, felt immense joy. And thus, O Bharata, Agastya beget an extraordinary son, leading his ancestors, O king, to attain the realms they had long desired.' ॥ 3-97-25 ॥
