पुरा देवयुगे चैव दृष्टं सर्वं मया विभॊ अरॊचयन सुरा धर्मं धर्मं तत्यजिरे ऽसुराः ॥ ३-९२-६ ॥
'I have witnessed all this in the righteous age of old. The gods upheld virtue, while the Asuras forsook it. The gods frequented the tirthas, whereas the Asuras refrained from doing so.' ॥ 3-92-6 ॥
english translation
तीर्थानि देवा विविशुर नाविशन भारतासुराः तान अधर्मकृतॊ दर्पः पूर्वम एव समाविशत ॥ ३-९२-७ ॥
'The gods entered the sacred places, but the Asuras of the Bharata clan did not enter them. Their arrogance born of unrighteousness had already entered them beforehand.' ॥ 3-92-7 ॥
english translation
दर्पान मानः समभवन मानात करॊधॊ वयजायत करॊधाद अह्रीस ततॊ ऽलज्जा वृत्तं तेषां ततॊ ऽनशत ॥ ३-९२-८ ॥
'This pride led to vanity, which in turn fostered wrath. From wrath arose various evil tendencies, and from these emerged shamelessness, leading to their ultimate downfall.' ॥ 3-92-8 ॥

तान अलज्जान गतह्रीकान हीनवृत्तान वृथा वरतान कषमा लक्ष्मीश च धर्मश च नचिरात परजहुस ततः लक्ष्मीस तु देवान अगमद अलक्ष्मीर असुरान नृप ॥ ३-९२-९ ॥
'As a result of their shamelessness, good behavior vanished from among them. With their lack of virtuous qualities, righteous conduct, and noble vows, they quickly lost forgiveness, prosperity, and morality. Consequently, O king, prosperity sought the gods, while adversity fell upon the Asuras.' ॥ 3-92-9 ॥

तान अलक्ष्मी समाविष्टान दर्पॊपहत चेतसः दैतेयान दानवांश चैव कलिर अप्य आविशत ततः ॥ ३-९२-१० ॥
'When the Daityas and Danavas, blinded by pride and beset by misfortune, fell under the influence of Kali, they became overwhelmed.' ॥ 3-92-10 ॥
