आह मां तत्र देवेशॊ गच्छ पाण्डुसुतान इति सॊ ऽहम अभ्यागतः कषिप्रं दिदृक्षुस तवां सहानुजम ॥ ३-८९-७ ॥

'And the lord of the celestials then instructed me, saying, 'Go to the sons of Pandu.' Thus, at the behest of Indra and the high-souled son of Pritha, I have come swiftly, eager to see you and your younger brothers.' ॥ 3-89-7 ॥

Aha mAM tatra devezò gaccha pANDusutAna iti sò 'hama abhyAgataH kaSipraM didRkSusa tavAM sahAnujama ॥ 3-89-7 ॥

वचनात पुरुहूतस्य पार्थस्य च महात्मनः आख्यास्ये ते परियं तात महत पाण्डवनन्दन ॥ ३-८९-८ ॥

'At the behest of the illustrious Puruhuta and the great-souled Partha, I shall recount to you, dear one, the cherished tale, O son of Pandu.' ॥ 3-89-8 ॥

vacanAta puruhUtasya pArthasya ca mahAtmanaH AkhyAsye te pariyaM tAta mahata pANDavanandana ॥ 3-89-8 ॥

भरातृभिः सहितॊ राजन कृष्णया चैव तच छृणु यत तवयॊक्तॊ महाबाहुर अस्त्रार्थं पाण्डवर्षभ ॥ ३-८९-९ ॥

'Listen attentively, O king, along with Krishna and the Rishis who are with you. O bull among the Bharatas, Partha has received from Rudra that unparalleled weapon for which you had sent him to heaven.' ॥ 3-89-9 ॥

bharAtRbhiH sahitò rAjana kRSNayA caiva taca chRNu yata tavayòktò mahAbAhura astrArthaM pANDavarSabha ॥ 3-89-9 ॥

तद अस्त्रम आप्तं पार्थेन रुद्राद अप्रतिमं महत यत तद बरह्मशिरॊ नाम तपसा रुद्रम आगतम ॥ ३-८९-१० ॥

'This fierce weapon, known as Brahmasira, which emerged after the churning of the ocean of nectar and was attained by Rudra through his ascetic austerities.' ॥ 3-89-10 ॥

tada astrama AptaM pArthena rudrAda apratimaM mahata yata tada barahmazirò nAma tapasA rudrama Agatama ॥ 3-89-10 ॥
