वेदज्ञौ वेद विदितौ दिव्या वेदविदाव उभौ यजन्तौ करतुभिर नित्यं पुण्यैर भरतसत्तम ॥ ३-८८-११ ॥

sanskrit

'Here too, O lord of men, the illustrious Etavarna and Avavarana, well-versed in the Vedas and skilled in Vedic knowledge and rites, performed their meritorious sacrifices, O chief of the Bharata lineage!' ॥ 3-88-11 ॥

english translation

vedajJau veda viditau divyA vedavidAva ubhau yajantau karatubhira nityaM puNyaira bharatasattama ॥ 3-88-11 ॥

'There also lies Visakhayupa, where, in ancient times, the gods, along with Varuna and Indra, practiced ascetic austerities.' ॥ 3-88-12 ॥

sametya bahuzò devAH sendrAH sa varuNAH purA vizAkha yUpe 'tapyanta tasmAta puNyatamaH sa vai ॥ 3-88-12 ॥

'And that is why this place is considered so profoundly sacred. Here also lies Palasaka, where the great and illustrious sage Jamadagni, blessed with exceptional fortune, performed his sacrifices.' ॥ 3-88-13 ॥
