[नारद] एवम उक्त्वाभ्यनुज्ञाप्य पुलस्त्यॊ भगवान ऋषिः परीतः परीतेन मनसा तत्रैवान्तरधीयते ॥ ३-८३-९६ ॥
'Narada continued, 'Having spoken joyfully, the illustrious sage Pulastya, well pleased, bid farewell to Bhishma and vanished from that place.'' ॥ 3-83-96 ॥
english translation
[nArada] evama uktvAbhyanujJApya pulastyò bhagavAna RSiH parItaH parItena manasA tatraivAntaradhIyate ॥ 3-83-96 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभीष्मश च कुरुशार्दूल शास्त्रतत्त्वार्थ दर्शिवान पुलस्त्यवचनाच चैव पृथिवीम अनुचक्रमे ॥ ३-८३-९७ ॥
'And Bhishma, O tiger among men, understanding the true essence of the Shastras, roamed the world at Pulastya's command.' ॥ 3-83-97 ॥
english translation
bhISmaza ca kuruzArdUla zAstratattvArtha darzivAna pulastyavacanAca caiva pRthivIma anucakrame ॥ 3-83-97 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनेन विधिना यस तु पृथिवीं संचरिष्यति अश्वमेध शतस्याग्र्यं फलं परेत्य स भॊक्ष्यते ॥ ३-८३-९८ ॥
'Thus, O blessed one, Bhishma concluded his highly meritorious journey to the tirthas, which have the power to eradicate all sins, at Prayaga.' ॥ 3-83-98 ॥

anena vidhinA yasa tu pRthivIM saMcariSyati azvamedha zatasyAgryaM phalaM paretya sa bhòkSyate ॥ 3-83-98 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअतश चाष्ट गुणं पार्थ पराप्स्यसे धर्मम उत्तमम नेता च तवम ऋषीन यस्मात तेन ते ऽषट गुणं फलम ॥ ३-८३-९९ ॥
'The person who roams the earth in accordance with these injunctions attains the highest reward of a hundred horse-sacrifices and secures salvation in the afterlife. You, O son of Pritha, will acquire merit comprising the eight attributes.' ॥ 3-83-99 ॥

ataza cASTa guNaM pArtha parApsyase dharmama uttamama netA ca tavama RSIna yasmAta tena te 'SaTa guNaM phalama ॥ 3-83-99 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरक्षॊगणावकीर्णानि तीर्थान्य एतानि भारत न गतिर विद्यते ऽनयस्य तवाम ऋते कुरुनन्दन ॥ ३-८३-१०० ॥
'O Bharata, O joy of the Kurus, these pilgrimage sites are infested with groups of demons. There is no other way (or refuge) except you.' ॥ 3-83-100 ॥

rakSògaNAvakIrNAni tIrthAnya etAni bhArata na gatira vidyate 'nayasya tavAma Rte kurunandana ॥ 3-83-100 ॥
