तत्राभिषेकं यः कुर्यात संगमे संशितव्रतः पुण्यं सफलम आप्नॊति राजसूयाश्वमेधयॊः ॥ ३-८३-७६ ॥
'He who bathes in that celebrated confluence acquires all the merits of the Rajasuya and horse sacrifices.' ॥ 3-83-76 ॥
english translation
एषा यजन भूमिर हि देवानाम अपि सत्कृता तत्र दत्तं सूक्ष्मम अपि महद भवति भारत ॥ ३-८३-७७ ॥
'This sacred place is revered even by the gods. If a person gives even a little there, O Bharata, it increases a thousandfold.' ॥ 3-83-77 ॥
english translation
न वेद वचनात तात न लॊकवचनाद अपि मतिर उत्क्रमणीया ते परयागमरणं परति ॥ ३-८३-७८ ॥
'O child, do not let the texts of the Veda or the opinions of others deter your desire to pass away at Prayag.' ॥ 3-83-78 ॥
english translation
दश तीर्थसहस्राणि षष्टिकॊट्त्यस तथापराः येषां सांनिध्यम अत्रैव कीर्तितं कुरुनन्दन ॥ ३-८३-७९ ॥
'O son of the Kuru race, the wise say that there are six hundred million and ten thousand tirthas at Prayag.' ॥ 3-83-79 ॥
english translation
चातुर्वेदे च यत पुण्यं सत्यवादिषु चैव यत सनात एव तदाप्नॊति गङ्गा यमुन संगमे ॥ ३-८३-८० ॥
'Bathing in the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna grants the merit associated with the four kinds of knowledge, as well as the merits of those who are truthful.' ॥ 3-83-80 ॥
