'The land between the Ganga and Yamuna is considered the mons veneris of the world, with Prayag as its most prominent point.' ।। 3-83-71 ।।

'In those sacred places, O foremost of warriors, the Vedas and Sacrifices take on embodied forms, and the Rishis, rich in asceticism, revere Brahma. There, the gods and rulers of realms also perform their sacrifices.' ।। 3-83-73 ।।

tatra vedAza ca yajJAza ca mUrtimantò yudhiSThira parajApatima upAsante RSayaza ca mahAvratAH yajante karatubhira devAsa tathA cakracarA nRpa || 3-83-73 ||

'The learned declare, O exalted one, that among all these tirthas, Prayag is the most sacred, indeed the foremost of all tirthas in the three worlds.' ।। 3-83-74 ।।
