सप्त गॊदावरे सनात्वा नियतॊ नियताशनः महत पुण्यम अवाप्नॊति देवलॊकं च गच्छति ।। ३-८३-४१ ।।

sanskrit

'By bathing next in the Saptagadavara, while keeping the senses subdued and following a regulated diet, one earns great merit and ascends to the celestial realm.' ।। 3-83-41 ।।

english translation

sapta gòdAvare sanAtvA niyatò niyatAzanaH mahata puNyama avApnòti devalòkaM ca gacchati || 3-83-41 ||

ततॊ देवपथं गच्छेन नियतॊ नियताशनः देव सत्रस्य यत पुण्यं तद अवाप्नॊति मानवः ।। ३-८३-४२ ।।

sanskrit

'By proceeding next to Deva-hrada, while keeping his senses subdued and maintaining a regulated diet, a person acquires the merit of the Devasatra sacrifice.' ।। 3-83-42 ।।

english translation

tatò devapathaM gacchena niyatò niyatAzanaH deva satrasya yata puNyaM tada avApnòti mAnavaH || 3-83-42 ||

तुङ्गकारण्यम आसाद्य बरह्म चारी जितेन्द्रियः वेदान अध्यापयत तत्र ऋषिः सारस्वतः पुरा ।। ३-८३-४३ ।।

sanskrit

'Next, one should proceed to the forest of Tungaka, maintaining subdued senses and following a Brahmacharya lifestyle. It was in this place that the sage Sarasvata, in ancient times.' ।। 3-83-43 ।।

english translation

tuGgakAraNyama AsAdya barahma cArI jitendriyaH vedAna adhyApayata tatra RSiH sArasvataH purA || 3-83-43 ||

तत्र वेदान परनष्टांस तु मुनेर अङ्गिरसः सुतः उपविष्टॊ महर्षीणाम उत्तरीयेषु भारत ।। ३-८३-४४ ।।

'There, the son of the sage Angiras, having taken his seat among the great sages, recited the Vedas that had been lost, O Bharata.' ।। 3-83-44 ।।

tatra vedAna paranaSTAMsa tu munera aGgirasaH sutaH upaviSTò maharSINAma uttarIyeSu bhArata || 3-83-44 ||

ओंकारेण यथान्यायं सम्यग उच्चारितेन च येन यत पूर्वम अभ्यस्तं तत तस्य समुपस्थितम ।। ३-८३-४५ ।।

sanskrit

'When the Vedas were lost due to the Munis forgetting them, Angirasa's son, comfortably seated on the upper garments spread out by the Munis, distinctly and emphatically pronounced the sacred syllable 'Om.'' ।। 3-83-45 ।।

oMkAreNa yathAnyAyaM samyaga uccAritena ca yena yata pUrvama abhyastaM tata tasya samupasthitama || 3-83-45 ||
