षष्ठ कालॊपवासेन मासम उष्य महालये सर्वपापविशुद्धात्मा विन्द्याद बहुसुवर्णकम ॥ ३-८२-४९ ॥

sanskrit

'By residing at Mahalaya for a month and observing a fast for three nights, one’s soul is purified of all sins, and one gains the merit equivalent to generously donating gold in abundance.' ॥ 3-82-49 ॥

english translation

SaSTha kAlòpavAsena mAsama uSya mahAlaye sarvapApavizuddhAtmA vindyAda bahusuvarNakama ॥ 3-82-49 ॥
