ततॊ गच्छेत राजेन्द्र देव्याः सथानं सुदुर्लभम शाकम्भरीति विख्याता तरिषु लॊकेषु विश्रुता ॥ ३-८२-११ ॥
'Next, O king, one should proceed to the exalted abode of the Goddess, celebrated across the three worlds by the name of Sakamvari.' ॥ 3-82-11 ॥
english translation
tatò gaccheta rAjendra devyAH sathAnaM sudurlabhama zAkambharIti vikhyAtA tariSu lòkeSu vizrutA ॥ 3-82-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिव्यं वर्षसहस्रं हि शाकेन किल सुव्रत आहारं सा कृतवती मासि मासि नराधिप ॥ ३-८२-१२ ॥
'There, for a thousand celestial years, she of excellent vows subsisted on herbs, month after month, O king among men!' ॥ 3-82-12 ॥
english translation
divyaM varSasahasraM hi zAkena kila suvrata AhAraM sA kRtavatI mAsi mAsi narAdhipa ॥ 3-82-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptऋषयॊ ऽभयागतास तत्र देव्या भक्त्या तपॊधनाः आतिथ्यं च कृतं तेषां शाकेन किल भारत ततः शाकम्भरीत्य एव नाम तस्याः परतिष्ठितम ॥ ३-८२-१३ ॥
'Attracted by their reverence for the Goddess, many Rishis endowed with ascetic power came there, O Bharata, and were graciously entertained by her with herbs. It is for this reason that they bestowed upon her the name Sakamvari.' ॥ 3-82-13 ॥
english translation
RSayò 'bhayAgatAsa tatra devyA bhaktyA tapòdhanAH AtithyaM ca kRtaM teSAM zAkena kila bhArata tataH zAkambharItya eva nAma tasyAH paratiSThitama ॥ 3-82-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशाकम्भरीं समासाद्य बरह्म चारी समाहितः तरिरात्रम उषितः शाकं भक्षयेन नियतः शुचिः ॥ ३-८२-१४ ॥
'O Bharata, the man who arrives at Sakamvari, with focused attention and observing a Brahmacharya lifestyle, and who spends three nights there in purity while subsisting solely on herbs.' ॥ 3-82-14 ॥

zAkambharIM samAsAdya barahma cArI samAhitaH tarirAtrama uSitaH zAkaM bhakSayena niyataH zuciH ॥ 3-82-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशाकाहारस्य यत सम्यग वर्षैर दवादशभिः फलम तत फलं तस्य भवति देव्याश छन्देन भारत ॥ ३-८२-१५ ॥
'Attains, by the goddess's grace, the merit equivalent to that of one who lives on herbs for twelve years.' ॥ 3-82-15 ॥

zAkAhArasya yata samyaga varSaira davAdazabhiH phalama tata phalaM tasya bhavati devyAza chandena bhArata ॥ 3-82-15 ॥
