तत्राभिषेकं कुर्वीत वल्मीकान निःसृते जले अर्चयित्वा पितॄन देवान अश्वमेध फलं लभेत ।। ३-८२-६ ।।

sanskrit

'There, one should bathe in the water flowing from an anthill. By bathing there and worshipping the Pitris and the gods, one attains the merit of the horse sacrifice.' ।। 3-82-6 ।।

english translation

tatrAbhiSekaM kurvIta valmIkAna niHsRte jale arcayitvA pitRRna devAna azvamedha phalaM labheta || 3-82-6 ||

ईशानाध्युषितं नाम तत्र तीर्थं सुदुर्लभम षट्सु शम्या निपातेषु वल्मीकाद इति निश्चयः ।। ३-८२-७ ।।

sanskrit

'There is a rare and difficult to attain sacred site (tīrtha) there, Known as the dwelling place of Īśāna (a form of Shiva). It is located at a distance of six throws of a śamyā stick From the anthill, this is certain.' ।। 3-82-7 ।।

english translation

IzAnAdhyuSitaM nAma tatra tIrthaM sudurlabhama SaTsu zamyA nipAteSu valmIkAda iti nizcayaH || 3-82-7 ||

कपिलानां सहस्रं च वाजिमेधं च विन्दति तत्र सनात्वा नरव्याघ्र दृष्टम एतत पुरातने ।। ३-८२-८ ।।

sanskrit

'As stated in the Puranas, O tiger among men, bathing there grants a man the merit of donating a thousand Kapila cows and the merit of the horse sacrifice.' ।। 3-82-8 ।।

kapilAnAM sahasraM ca vAjimedhaM ca vindati tatra sanAtvA naravyAghra dRSTama etata purAtane || 3-82-8 ||

सुगन्धां शतकुम्भां च पञ्च यज्ञां च भारत अभिगम्य नरश्रेष्ठ सवर्गलॊके महीयते ।। ३-८२-९ ।।

'Then, O foremost of men, by journeying to Sugandha, Shatakumbha, and Panchayaksha, a man becomes revered in heaven.' ।। 3-82-9 ।।

तरिशूलखातं तत्रैव तीर्थम आसाद्य भारत तत्राभिषेकं कुर्वीत पितृदेवार्चने रतः गाणपत्यं स लभते देहं तयक्त्वा न संशयः ।। ३-८२-१० ।।

sanskrit

'Proceeding to another tirtha known as Trisulakhata, one should bathe and devote oneself to the worship of the Pitris and the gods. By doing so, without a doubt, one attains the status of Ganapatya after death.' ।। 3-82-10 ।।

english translation

tarizUlakhAtaM tatraiva tIrthama AsAdya bhArata tatrAbhiSekaM kurvIta pitRdevArcane rataH gANapatyaM sa labhate dehaM tayaktvA na saMzayaH || 3-82-10 ||
