तथैव मलदिग्धाङ्गी परिष्वज्य शुचिस्मिता सुचिरं पुरुषव्याघ्रं तस्थौ साश्रुपरिप्लुता ॥ ३-७५-२१ ॥

'Overwhelmed with sorrow, the noble man stood for a while, embracing the dust-covered Damayanti, whose sweet smile still shone through.' ॥ 3-75-21 ॥

english translation

tathaiva maladigdhAGgI pariSvajya zucismitA suciraM puruSavyAghraM tasthau sAzrupariplutA ॥ 3-75-21 ॥

ततः सर्वं यथावृत्तं दमयन्त्या नलस्य च भीमायाकथयत परीत्या वैदर्भ्या जननी नृप ॥ ३-७५-२२ ॥

'And so, O king, the queen-mother, with a joyful heart, recounted to Bhima everything that had transpired between Nala and Damayanti.' ॥ 3-75-22 ॥

tataH sarvaM yathAvRttaM damayantyA nalasya ca bhImAyAkathayata parItyA vaidarbhyA jananI nRpa ॥ 3-75-22 ॥

ततॊ ऽबरवीन महाराजः कृतशौचम अहं नलम दमयन्त्या सहॊपेतं काल्यं दरष्टा सुखॊषितम ॥ ३-७५-२३ ॥

'And the mighty monarch replied, 'Let Nala spend this day in peace. Tomorrow, after his bath and prayers, I shall see him with Damayanti by his side.'' ॥ 3-75-23 ॥

tatò 'baravIna mahArAjaH kRtazaucama ahaM nalama damayantyA sahòpetaM kAlyaM daraSTA sukhòSitama ॥ 3-75-23 ॥

ततस तौ सहितौ रात्रिं कथयन्तौ पुरातनम वने विचरितं सर्वम ऊषतुर मुदितौ नृप ॥ ३-७५-२४ ॥

'And so, O king, they enjoyed a pleasant night, sharing stories of their past experiences in the forest.' ॥ 3-75-24 ॥

स चतुर्थे ततॊ वर्षे संगम्य सह भार्यया सर्वकामैः सुसिद्धार्थॊ लब्धवान परमां मुदम ॥ ३-७५-२५ ॥

'It was in the fourth year after the loss of his kingdom that Nala was reunited with his wife, fulfilling all his desires and once again experiencing the highest bliss.' ॥ 3-75-25 ॥

sa caturthe tatò varSe saMgamya saha bhAryayA sarvakAmaiH susiddhArthò labdhavAna paramAM mudama ॥ 3-75-25 ॥
