मम राज्यं परनष्टं यन नाहं तत कृतवान सवयम कलिना तत कृतं भीरु यच च तवाम अहम अत्यजम ॥ ३-७४-१६ ॥
'My kingdom was lost not because I did it myself. It was done by Kali, O timid one, and that is why I abandoned you.' ॥ 3-74-16 ॥
english translation
तवया तु धर्मभृच्छ्रेष्ठे शापेनाभिहतः पुरा वनस्थया दुःखितया शॊचन्त्या मां विवाससम ॥ ३-७४-१७ ॥
'And, O noble woman, as you mourned for me day and night, consumed by sorrow, you cursed Kali in the forest.' ॥ 3-74-17 ॥
english translation
स मच्छरीरे तवच्छापाद दह्यमानॊ ऽवसत कलिः तवच छापदग्धः सततं सॊ ऽगनाव इव समाहितः ॥ ३-७४-१८ ॥
'It was then that he took residence in my body, ignited by the power of your curse. Indeed, burning with your curse, he resides within me like fire within fire.' ॥ 3-74-18 ॥
english translation
मम च वयवसायेन तपसा चैव निर्जितः दुःखस्यान्तेन चानेन भवितव्यं हि नौ शुभे ॥ ३-७४-१९ ॥
'O blessed one, may our sorrows come to an end. By my observances and austerities, I have triumphed over that wretched foe.' ॥ 3-74-19 ॥
english translation
विमुच्य मां गतः पापः स ततॊ ऽहम इहागतः तवदर्थं विपुलश्रॊणि न हि मे ऽनयत परयॊजनम ॥ ३-७४-२० ॥
'The sinful wretch has already departed from me, and it is for this reason that I have come here. My presence, O fair lady, is solely for your sake; I have no other purpose.' ॥ 3-74-20 ॥
