बृहदश्व उवाच सर्वं विकारं दृष्ट्वा तु पुण्यश्लॊकस्य धीमतः आगत्य केशिनी कषिप्रं दमयन्त्यै नयवेदयत ॥ ३-७४-१ ॥
'Bṛhadaśva said, 'Observing the agitation of the wise and virtuous Nala, Keśinī returned to Damayantī and recounted everything to her.'' ॥ 3-74-1 ॥
english translation
दमयन्ती ततॊ भूयः परेषयाम आस केशिनीम मातुः सकाशं दुःखार्ता नलशङ्कासमुत्सुका ॥ ३-७४-२ ॥
'Thereupon, with a sorrowful heart and a longing to see Nala, Damayantī once again sent Keśinī to her mother, asking her to convey a message on her behalf.' ॥ 3-74-2 ॥
english translation
परीक्षितॊ मे बहुशॊ बाहुकॊ नलशङ्कया रूपे मे संशयस तव एकः सवयम इच्छामि वेदितुम ॥ ३-७४-३ ॥
'Suspecting Vāhuka to be Nala, I have tested him in various ways. My only remaining doubt pertains to his appearance, and I wish to examine him myself.' ॥ 3-74-3 ॥
english translation
स वा परवेश्यतां मातर मां वानुज्ञातुम अर्हसि विदितं वाथ वाज्ञातं पितुर मे संविधीयताम ॥ ३-७४-४ ॥
'O mother, allow him to enter the palace or permit me to go to him. Please arrange this with or without my father's knowledge.' ॥ 3-74-4 ॥

एवम उक्ता तु वैदर्भ्या सा देवी भीमम अब्रवीत दुहितुस तम अभिप्रायम अन्वजानाच च पार्थिवः ॥ ३-७४-५ ॥
'And thus addressed, the lady conveyed to Bhīma his daughter's intention, and upon hearing it, the king granted his consent.' ॥ 3-74-5 ॥
