तस्यास तत्प्रियम आख्यानं परब्रवीहि महामते तद एव वाक्यं वैदर्भी शरॊतुम इच्छत्य अनिन्दिता ॥ ३-७२-२१ ॥
'O illustrious one, speak words that will soothe her, for the blameless one yearns to hear them.' ॥ 3-72-21 ॥
english translation
एतच छरुत्वा परतिवचस तस्य दत्तं तवया किल यत पुरा तत पुनस तवत्तॊ वैदर्भी शरॊतुम इच्छति ॥ ३-७२-२२ ॥
'Hearing the words of the Brahmana, you had previously offered a reply! The princess of Vidarbha now wishes to hear once more the words you spoke at that time.' ॥ 3-72-22 ॥

बृहदश्व उवाच एवम उक्तस्य केशिन्या नलस्य कुरुनन्दन हृदयं वयथितं चासीद अश्रुपूर्णे च लॊचने ॥ ३-७२-२३ ॥
'Vrihadaswa continued, "O scion of the Kuru lineage, upon hearing Kesini's words, Nala felt a deep sorrow in his heart, and his eyes brimmed with tears."' ॥ 3-72-23 ॥

स निगृह्यात्मनॊ दुःखं दह्यमानॊ महीपतिः बाष्पसंदिग्धया वाचा पुनर एवेदम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-७२-२४ ॥
'Suppressing his sorrow, the king, tormented by grief, spoke again, his voice thick with tears:' ॥ 3-72-24 ॥

वैषम्यम अपि संप्राप्ता गॊपायन्ति कुलस्त्रियः आत्मानम आत्मना सत्यॊ जितस्वर्गा न संशयः ॥ ३-७२-२५ ॥
'Chaste women, even when beset by calamity, safeguard their honor, thus securing their place in heaven.' ॥ 3-72-25 ॥
