ततः स विस्मयाविष्टॊ राजानम इदम अब्रवीत गणयित्वा यथॊक्तानि तावन्त्य एव फलानि च ॥ ३-७०-२१ ॥
'Thereupon, Vahuka swiftly dismounted from the chariot and cut down the tree. Amazed at discovering that the number of fruits matched the king's declaration.' ॥ 3-70-21 ॥

अत्यद्भुतम इदं राजन दृष्टवान अस्मि ते बलम शरॊतुम इच्छामि तां विद्यां यथैतज जञायते नृप ॥ ३-७०-२२ ॥
'He turned to the monarch and spoke, 'O monarch, this skill of yours is truly remarkable. I wish to know, O prince, the art by which you have determined all of this.'' ॥ 3-70-22 ॥

तम उवाच ततॊ राजा तवरितॊ गमने तदा विद्ध्य अक्षहृदयज्ञं मां संख्याने च विशारदम ॥ ३-७०-२३ ॥
'Intent on moving swiftly, the king addressed Vahuka, saying, "Know that I am not only skilled in numbers but also an adept player of dice."' ॥ 3-70-23 ॥

बाहुकस तम उवाचाथ देहि विद्याम इमां मम मत्तॊ ऽपि चाश्वहृदयं गृहाण पुरुषर्षभ ॥ ३-७०-२४ ॥
'Vahuka replied, "Bestow this knowledge upon me, and, O great among men, I shall share with you my expertise in the science of horses."' ॥ 3-70-24 ॥

ऋतुपर्णस ततॊ राजा बाहुकं कार्यगौरवात हयज्ञानस्य लॊभाच च तथेत्य एवाब्रवीद वचः ॥ ३-७०-२५ ॥
'King Rituparna, recognizing the significance of the task that hinged on Vahuka's goodwill and enticed by the expertise in equestrian knowledge that his charioteer possessed, replied, "It shall be as you wish."' ॥ 3-70-25 ॥
