ततॊ रथाद अवप्लुत्य राजानं बाहुकॊ ऽबरवीत परॊक्षम इव मे राजन कत्थसे शत्रुकर्शन ॥ ३-७०-११ ॥
'Then, stopping the car, Vahuka addressed the king, saying, "O conqueror of foes, you take pride in a matter that eludes my understanding."' ॥ 3-70-11 ॥
english translation
tatò rathAda avaplutya rAjAnaM bAhukò 'baravIta paròkSama iva me rAjana katthase zatrukarzana ॥ 3-70-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ ते गणिते राजन विद्यते न परॊक्षता परत्यक्षं ते महाराज गणयिष्ये बिभीतकम ॥ ३-७०-१२ ॥
'However, O monarch, I shall ascertain the truth through direct observation by cutting down the Vibhitaka. Once I count the leaves and fruits, it will no longer be a matter of conjecture. Therefore, in your presence, O king, I will fell this Vibhitaka.' ॥ 3-70-12 ॥
english translation
atha te gaNite rAjana vidyate na paròkSatA paratyakSaM te mahArAja gaNayiSye bibhItakama ॥ 3-70-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअहं हि नाभिजानामि भवेद एवं न वेति च संख्यास्यामि फलान्य अस्य पश्यतस ते नराधिप मुहूर्तम इव वार्ष्णेयॊ रश्मीन यच्छतु वाजिनाम ॥ ३-७०-१३ ॥
'I do not know if it is as you say or not. In your presence, O ruler of men, I will count the fruits and leaves. Let Varshneya hold the reins of the horses for a moment.' ॥ 3-70-13 ॥
english translation
ahaM hi nAbhijAnAmi bhaveda evaM na veti ca saMkhyAsyAmi phalAnya asya pazyatasa te narAdhipa muhUrtama iva vArSNeyò razmIna yacchatu vAjinAma ॥ 3-70-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतम अब्रवीन नृपः सूतं नायं कालॊ विलम्बितुम बाहुकस तव अब्रवीद एनं परं यत्नं समास्थितः ॥ ३-७०-१४ ॥
'The king said to the charioteer, "There is no time to waste." Vahuka humbly responded, "Please pause for a moment. However, if you are in haste, then proceed, allowing Varshneya to take the reins."' ॥ 3-70-14 ॥

tama abravIna nRpaH sUtaM nAyaM kAlò vilambituma bAhukasa tava abravIda enaM paraM yatnaM samAsthitaH ॥ 3-70-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरतीक्षस्व मुहूर्तं तवम अथ वा तवरते भवान एष याति शिवः पन्था याहि वार्ष्णेयसारथिः ॥ ३-७०-१५ ॥
'Wait for a moment, or if you are in a hurry, This path is auspicious, go forth, O charioteer of the Vrishni clan.' ॥ 3-70-15 ॥

paratIkSasva muhUrtaM tavama atha vA tavarate bhavAna eSa yAti zivaH panthA yAhi vArSNeyasArathiH ॥ 3-70-15 ॥
