उताहॊ सविद भवेद राजा नलः परपुरंजयः सॊ ऽयं नृपतिर आयात इत्य एवं समचिन्तयत ॥ ३-६९-२६ ॥
'Could it be that Nala, the conqueror of enemy strongholds, has arrived here? Thus, he pondered in his mind.' ॥ 3-69-26 ॥
english translation
अथ वा यां नलॊ वेद विद्यां ताम एव बाहुकः तुल्यं हि लक्षये जञानं बाहुकस्य नलस्य च ॥ ३-६९-२७ ॥
'Alternatively, it may be that Vahuka possesses knowledge equal to that of Nala, for I discern that his expertise matches that of the great king.' ॥ 3-69-27 ॥
english translation
अपि चेदं वयस तुल्यम अस्य मन्ये नलस्य च नायं नलॊ महावीर्यस तद्विद्यस तु भविष्यति ॥ ३-६९-२८ ॥
'I believe his age is equal to that of Nala, Though this is not Nala of great prowess, he might possess the same knowledge.' ॥ 3-69-28 ॥

परछन्ना हि महात्मानश चरन्ति पृथिवीम इमाम दैवेन विधिना युक्ताः शास्त्रॊक्तैश च विरूपणैः ॥ ३-६९-२९ ॥
'It is said that illustrious individuals often walk the earth in disguise, either due to misfortune or in accordance with scriptural mandates.' ॥ 3-69-29 ॥

भवेत तु मतिभेदॊ मे गात्रवैरूप्यतां परति परमाणात परिहीनस तु भवेद इति हि मे मतिः ॥ ३-६९-३० ॥
'The unsightliness of this person's appearance should not sway my opinion; for it is possible that Nala has been stripped of his former beauty. In terms of age, he certainly resembles Nala.' ॥ 3-69-30 ॥
