सैरन्ध्रीं जातिसंपन्नां भुजिष्यां कामवासिनीम फलमूलाशनाम एकां यत्रसायंप्रतिश्रयाम ॥ ३-६२-२६ ॥
'I am a serving woman of noble lineage, free to dwell wherever I choose. I sustain myself on fruits and roots, and I remain where the evening finds me.' ॥ 3-62-26 ॥

असंख्येयगुणॊ भर्ता मां च नित्यम अनुव्रतः भर्तारम अपि तं वीरं छायेवानपगा सदा ॥ ३-६२-२७ ॥
'My husband is the embodiment of countless virtues and has always been devoted to me. In turn, I have been deeply attached to him, following him like his shadow.' ॥ 3-62-27 ॥

तस्य दैवात परसङ्गॊ ऽभूद अतिमात्रं सम देवने दयूते स निर्जितश चैव वनम एकॊ ऽभयुपेयिवान ॥ ३-६२-२८ ॥
'It happened that he became deeply engrossed in a game of dice. After being defeated, he found himself wandering alone into the forest.' ॥ 3-62-28 ॥

तम एकवसनं वीरम उन्मत्तम इव विह्वलम आश्वासयन्ती भर्तारम अहम अन्वगमं वनम ॥ ३-६२-२९ ॥
'I accompanied my husband into the woods, comforting the hero, who was clad in a single garment and appeared distraught and overwhelmed by calamity.' ॥ 3-62-29 ॥

स कदा चिद वने वीरः कस्मिंश चित कारणान्तरे कषुत्परीतः सुविमनास तद अप्य एकं वयसर्जयत ॥ ३-६२-३० ॥
'Once, for some reason, that hero, overwhelmed by hunger, thirst, and sorrow, was compelled to abandon his only garment in the forest.' ॥ 3-62-30 ॥
