भवान मृगाणाम अधिपस तवम अस्मिन कानने परभुः विदर्भराजतनयां दमयन्तीति विद्धि माम ।। ३-६१-३१ ।।

'You are the lord of all creatures and the king of this forest. Recognize me as Damayanti, the daughter of the king of Vidarbha.' ।। 3-61-31 ।।

bhavAna mRgANAma adhipasa tavama asmina kAnane parabhuH vidarbharAjatanayAM damayantIti viddhi mAma || 3-61-31 ||

निषधाधिपतेर भार्यां नलस्यामित्रघातिनः पतिम अन्वेषतीम एकां कृपणां शॊककर्शिताम आश्वासय मृगेन्द्रेह यदि दृष्टस तवया नलः ।। ३-६१-३२ ।।

'I am the wife of Nala, the slayer of foes and the king of the Nishadhas. Alone in these woods, I am distressed and woe-stricken in search of my husband.' ।। 3-61-32 ।।

niSadhAdhipatera bhAryAM nalasyAmitraghAtinaH patima anveSatIma ekAM kRpaNAM zòkakarzitAma AzvAsaya mRgendreha yadi dRSTasa tavayA nalaH || 3-61-32 ||

अथ वारण्यनृपते नलं यदि न शंससि माम अदस्व मृगश्रेष्ठ विशॊकां कुरु दुःखिताम ।। ३-६१-३३ ।।

'O king of beasts, if you have seen him, please comfort me with news of Nala. But if you cannot speak of him, then, O lord of the forest, devour me, and free me from this misery.' ।। 3-61-33 ।।

atha vAraNyanRpate nalaM yadi na zaMsasi mAma adasva mRgazreSTha vizòkAM kuru duHkhitAma || 3-61-33 ||

शरुत्वारण्ये विलपितं ममैष मृगराट सवयम यात्य एतां मृष्टसलिलाम आपगां सागरंगमाम ।। ३-६१-३४ ।।

'Alas! Hearing my plaintive appeal in this wilderness, this king of mountains—the high and sacred hill, crowned with countless peaks that kiss the heavens—seems to roll toward the sea.' ।। 3-61-34 ।।

zarutvAraNye vilapitaM mamaiSa mRgarATa savayama yAtya etAM mRSTasalilAma ApagAM sAgaraMgamAma || 3-61-34 ||

इमं शिलॊच्चयं पुण्यं शृङ्गैर बहुभिर उच्छ्रितैः विराजद्भिर दिवस्पृग्भिर नैकवर्णैर मनॊरमैः ।। ३-६१-३५ ।।

'Therefore, let me seek tidings of my king from this mountain, adorned with myriad vibrant summits and rich in diverse ores, embellished with gems of various hues, and towering like a banner over this vast forest.' ।। 3-61-35 ।।
