गत्वा परकृष्टम अध्वानं दमयन्ती शुचिस्मिता ददर्शाथ महासार्थं हस्त्यश्वरथसंकुलम ॥ ३-६१-१०६ ॥

'After traveling along the splendid path, the virtuous and radiant Damayanti beheld a grand caravan, filled with elephants, horses, and chariots.' ॥ 3-61-106 ॥

english translation

उत्तरन्तं नदीं रम्यां परसन्नसलिलां शुभाम सुशीततॊयां विस्तीर्णां हरदिनीं वेतसैर वृताम ॥ ३-६१-१०७ ॥

'The lovely river flowing northward, with its clear and auspicious waters, cool and expansive, surrounded by reeds, was truly enchanting.' ॥ 3-61-107 ॥

english translation

परॊद्घुष्टां करौञ्चकुररैश चक्रवाकॊपकूजिताम कूर्मग्राहझषाकीर्णां पुलिनद्वीपशॊभिताम ॥ ३-६१-१०८ ॥

'Delightful to behold, the river was broad and lined with clusters of reeds, echoing with the calls of cranes, ospreys, and Chakravakas. It teemed with tortoises, alligators, and fish, and was dotted with countless islets.' ॥ 3-61-108 ॥

english translation

सा दृष्ट्वैव महासार्थं नलपत्नी यशस्विनी उपसर्प्य वरारॊहा जनमध्यं विवेश ह ॥ ३-६१-१०९ ॥

'Upon seeing the grand caravan, the illustrious wife of Nala, adorned with grace, approached and entered into the midst of the gathering.' ॥ 3-61-109 ॥

english translation

उन्मत्तरूपा शॊकार्ता तथा वस्त्रार्धसंवृता कृशा विवर्णा मलिना पांसुध्वस्तशिरॊरुहा ॥ ३-६१-११० ॥

'The beautiful and renowned wife of Nala, wild with despair, clad in tattered garments, emaciated and pale, her face smudged and hair dust-laden.' ॥ 3-61-110 ॥
