ततस तवं हास्तिनपुरे भरातृभिः सहितॊ वसन धार्तराष्ट्रीं शरियं पराप्य परशाधि पृथिवीम इमाम ॥ ३-४८-२६ ॥
'And you, O Bharata, living in Hastinapura with your brothers, shall seize the prosperity enjoyed by Dhritarashtra's party and rule this earth.' ॥ 3-48-26 ॥
english translation
अथैनम अब्रवीद राजा तस्मिन वीर समागमे शृण्वत्सु तेषु सर्वेषु धृष्टद्युम्नमुखेषु च ॥ ३-४८-२७ ॥
'Even these were Krishna's words to Yudhishthira, who, upon the conclusion of Krishna's speech, addressed him in that assembly of heroes, in the presence of all the brave warriors led by Dhrishtadyumna, saying .' ॥ 3-48-27 ॥

परतिगृह्णामि ते वाचं सत्याम एतां जनार्दन अमित्रान मे महाबाहॊ सानुबन्धान हनिष्यसि ॥ ३-४८-२८ ॥
'I accept your true words, O Janardana (Krishna). O mighty-armed one, you will slay my enemies along with their allies.' ॥ 3-48-28 ॥
english translation
वर्षात तरयॊदशाद ऊर्ध्वं सत्यं मां कुरु केशव परतिज्ञातॊ वनेवासॊ राजमध्ये मया हय अयम ॥ ३-४८-२९ ॥
'Slay my enemies along with all their followers after the completion of thirteen years. O Kesava, I urge you to promise this sincerely. I vowed before the king to live in the forest as I currently do.' ॥ 3-48-29 ॥

तद धर्मराज वचनं परतिश्रुत्य सभा सदः धृष्टद्युम्न पुरॊगास ते शमयाम आसुर अञ्जसा केशवं मधुरैर वाक्यैः कालयुक्तैर अमर्षितम ॥ ३-४८-३० ॥
'Agreeing to the words of the just King Yudhishthira, his counselors, led by Dhrishtadyumna, swiftly pacified the enraged Kesava with soothing words and expressions fitting for the occasion.' ॥ 3-48-30 ॥
