महर्षे मम पुत्रॊ ऽयं कुन्त्यां जातॊ महाभुजः अस्त्रहेतॊर इह पराप्तः कस्माच चित कारणान्तरात ॥ ३-४५-१६ ॥
'O great Rishi, this mighty-armed hero is my son, born of Kunti. He has come here to acquire weapons for a specific purpose.' ॥ 3-45-16 ॥
english translation
अहॊ नैनं भवान वेत्ति पुराणम ऋषिसत्तमम शृणु मे वदतॊ बरह्मन यॊ ऽयं यच चास्य कारणम ॥ ३-४५-१७ ॥
'Alas! Do you not recognize him as an ancient sage of the highest merit? Listen to me, O Brahmana, as I explain who he is and why he has come to me.' ॥ 3-45-17 ॥
english translation
नरनारायणौ यौ तौ पुराणाव ऋषिसत्तमौ ताव इमाव अभिजानीहि हृषीकेशधनंजयौ ॥ ३-४५-१८ ॥
'Those ancient and revered Rishis known as Nara and Narayana are, O Brahmana, none other than Hrishikesha and Dhananjaya.' ॥ 3-45-18 ॥
english translation
यन न शक्यं सुरैर दरष्टुम ऋषिभिर वा महात्मभिः तद आश्रमपदं पुण्यं बदरी नाम विश्रुतम ॥ ३-४५-१९ ॥
'Those celebrated Rishis, known as Nara and Narayana, have taken birth on earth for a specific purpose: the pursuit of virtue. This sacred sanctuary, revered throughout the three worlds and known as Badari, is beyond the sight of even the gods and illustrious sages.' ॥ 3-45-19 ॥
english translation
स निवासॊ ऽभवद विप्र विष्णॊर जिष्णॊस तथैव च यतः परववृते गङ्गा सिद्धचारणसेविता ॥ ३-४५-२० ॥
'Situated by the source of the Ganga and worshipped by the Siddhas and Charanas, it was the abode of Vishnu and Jishnu, O Brahmana.' ॥ 3-45-20 ॥
