[वै] ततॊ देवाः सगन्धर्वाः समादायार्घ्यम उत्तमम शक्रस्य मतम आज्ञाय पार्थम आनर्चुर अञ्जसा ॥ ३-४५-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "The gods and the Gandharvas, recognizing Indra's wishes, quickly gathered an exquisite offering and honored the son of Pritha with great reverence."' ॥ 3-45-1 ॥
english translation
पाद्यम आचमनीयं च परतिगृह्य नृपात्मजम परवेशया मासुर अथॊ पुरंदर निवेशनम ॥ ३-४५-२ ॥
'After providing water to wash his feet and face, they led the prince into the palace of Indra.' ॥ 3-45-2 ॥
english translation
एवं संपूजितॊ जिष्णुर उवास भवने पितुः उपशिक्षन महास्त्राणि ससंहाराणि पाण्डवः ॥ ३-४५-३ ॥
'Thus honored, Jishnu resided in his father's palace, while the son of Pandu diligently acquired celestial weapons and the knowledge to wield and withdraw them.' ॥ 3-45-3 ॥
english translation
शक्रस्य हस्ताद दयितं वज्रम अस्त्रं दुरुत्सहम अशनीश च महानादा मेघबर्हिण लक्षणाः ॥ ३-४५-४ ॥
'He received from Sakra his cherished weapon of unmatched power—the thunderbolt—along with other fearsome weapons that roared like the lightning of the heavens, whose flashes could be anticipated by the gathering clouds and the dancing peacocks.' ॥ 3-45-4 ॥
english translation
गृहीतास्त्रस तु कौन्तेयॊ भरातॄन सस्मार पाण्डवः पुरंदर नियॊगाच च पञ्चाब्दम अवसत सुखी ॥ ३-४५-५ ॥
'After acquiring those weapons, the son of Pandu remembered his brothers. Following Indra's command, he enjoyed a life of comfort and luxury in heaven for a full five years.' ॥ 3-45-5 ॥
