शङ्खदुन्दुभिघॊषाश च भेरीणां च सहस्रशः तस्मिन मुहूर्ते संप्राप्ते निर्घातश च महान अभूत ॥ ३-४१-२१ ॥
'The sounds of thousands of conchs, drums, and trumpets resounded, and at that moment, fierce hurricanes and whirlwinds began to blow.' ॥ 3-41-21 ॥

zaGkhadundubhighòSAza ca bherINAM ca sahasrazaH tasmina muhUrte saMprApte nirghAtaza ca mahAna abhUta ॥ 3-41-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथास्त्रं जाज्वलद घॊरं पाण्डवस्यामितौजसः मूर्तिमद विष्ठितं पार्श्वे ददृशुर देवदानवाः ॥ ३-४१-२२ ॥
'And the gods and the Danavas gazed in awe at that fearsome weapon, now manifested beside Arjuna, the one of boundless energy.' ॥ 3-41-22 ॥

athAstraM jAjvalada ghòraM pANDavasyAmitaujasaH mUrtimada viSThitaM pArzve dadRzura devadAnavAH ॥ 3-41-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसपृष्टस्य च तर्यम्बकेन फल्गुनस्यामितौजसः यत किं चिद अशुभं देहे तत सर्वं नाशम एयिवत ॥ ३-४१-२३ ॥
'At the touch of the three-eyed deity, all the malevolence within Phalguna was completely dispelled.' ॥ 3-41-23 ॥

sapRSTasya ca taryambakena phalgunasyAmitaujasaH yata kiM cida azubhaM dehe tata sarvaM nAzama eyivata ॥ 3-41-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसवर्गं गच्छेत्य अनुज्ञातस तर्यम्बकेन तदार्जुनः परणम्य शिरसा पार्थः पराञ्जलिर देवम ऐक्षत ॥ ३-४१-२४ ॥
'And the three-eyed god then commanded Arjuna, saying, 'Ascend to heaven.' Arjuna, O king, worshipped the deity with a bowed head and joined hands, gazing up at him in reverence.' ॥ 3-41-24 ॥

savargaM gacchetya anujJAtasa taryambakena tadArjunaH paraNamya zirasA pArthaH parAJjalira devama aikSata ॥ 3-41-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परभुस तरिदिव निवासिनां वशी; महामतिर गिरिश उमापतिः शिवः धनुर महद दितिजपिशाचसूदनं; ददौ भवः पुरुषवराय गाण्डिवम ॥ ३-४१-२५ ॥
'Then the lord of all heavenly beings, the resplendent deity dwelling upon the mountain peaks, the husband of Uma, the master of passions in perfect control, and the source of all blessings—Bhava—bestowed upon Arjuna, the foremost of men, the mighty bow known as Gandiva, a weapon that destroys Danavas and Pisachas.' ॥ 3-41-25 ॥

tataH parabhusa taridiva nivAsinAM vazI; mahAmatira giriza umApatiH zivaH dhanura mahada ditijapizAcasUdanaM; dadau bhavaH puruSavarAya gANDivama ॥ 3-41-25 ॥
