ततः परभुस तरिदिव निवासिनां वशी; महामतिर गिरिश उमापतिः शिवः धनुर महद दितिजपिशाचसूदनं; ददौ भवः पुरुषवराय गाण्डिवम ।। ३-४१-२५ ।।

sanskrit

'Then the lord of all heavenly beings, the resplendent deity dwelling upon the mountain peaks, the husband of Uma, the master of passions in perfect control, and the source of all blessings—Bhava—bestowed upon Arjuna, the foremost of men, the mighty bow known as Gandiva, a weapon that destroys Danavas and Pisachas.' ।। 3-41-25 ।।

english translation

tataH parabhusa taridiva nivAsinAM vazI; mahAmatira giriza umApatiH zivaH dhanura mahada ditijapizAcasUdanaM; dadau bhavaH puruSavarAya gANDivama || 3-41-25 ||
