ते सर्वे धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्रेण परिसान्त्विताः संविभक्ताश च तुष्टाश च गुरुवत तेषु वर्तते ॥ ३-३८-६ ॥

'All of them have been conciliated, honored, and gratified by Dhritarashtra's son, who treats them with the reverence and devotion one shows to a preceptor.' ॥ 3-38-6 ॥

'Thus honored by him, they will undoubtedly exert their full strength. Moreover, O son of Pritha, the entire earth, including all villages, towns, seas, forests, and mines, is now under Duryodhana's dominion. You alone are our sole refuge.' ॥ 3-38-8 ॥

'Upon you rests a great burden. Therefore, O chastiser of foes, I shall now tell you what you must do. I have received a profound science from Krishna-Dvaipayana, which, when applied by you, will reveal the entire universe. O child, receive this science from me with full attention, and in due course, by its aid, may you attain the favor of the celestials.' ॥ 3-38-9 ॥
