कवची सतल तराणॊ बद्धगॊधाङ्गुलि तरवान हुत्वाग्निं बराह्मणान निष्कैः सवस्ति वाच्य महाभुजः ॥ ३-३८-१६ ॥
'Equipped in mail, gauntlets, and finger-protectors made of the skin of the guana, and having poured oblations into the fire while making the Brahmanas utter blessings after bestowing gifts, Arjuna departed from Kamyaka with the aim of beholding Indra.' ॥ 3-38-16 ॥

परातिष्ठत महाबाहुः परगृहीतशरासनः वधाय धार्तराष्ट्राणां निःश्वस्यॊर्ध्वम उदीक्ष्य च ॥ ३-३८-१७ ॥
'Armed with his bow, the hero heaved a sigh and looked upwards as he set out, intent on achieving the death of Dhritarashtra's sons.' ॥ 3-38-17 ॥

तं दृष्ट्वा तत्र कौन्तेयं परगृहीतशरासनम अब्रुवन बराह्मणाः सिद्धा भूतान्य अन्तर्हितानि च कषिप्रं पराप्नुहि कौन्तेय मनसा यद यद इच्छसि ॥ ३-३८-१८ ॥
'Seeing the son of Kunti thus equipped and preparing to depart, the Brahmanas, Siddhas, and invisible spirits spoke to him: "O son of Kunti, may you swiftly attain your desires. With our blessings, may you accomplish your goals and achieve victory."' ॥ 3-38-18 ॥

तं सिंहम इव गच्छन्तं शालस्कन्धॊरुम अर्जुनम मनांस्य आदाय सर्वेषां कृट्णा वचनम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-३८-१९ ॥
'And seeing the heroic Arjuna, whose thighs were as sturdy as the trunks of the Sala tree, about to set out and taking with him the hearts of all present, Krishna addressed him, saying:' ॥ 3-38-19 ॥

यत ते कुन्ती महाबाहॊ जातस्यैच्छद धनंजय तत ते ऽसतु सर्वं कौन्तेय याथा च सवयम इच्छसि ॥ ३-३८-२० ॥
'O Dhananjaya, let all that Kunti desired for you at your birth, as well as all that you wish for now, be fulfilled, O strong-armed one!' ॥ 3-38-20 ॥
